How we talk to ourselves matters
Our brains are hard-wired to notice more of the negative thoughts, feelings and emotions than they are the positive ones. This means that we are impacted in an unbalanced way by our negative self talk, and by negativity in our environment, circumstances and our exchanges with others. It’s an unfair balance, a negative bias. So creating a positive mindset becomes more important to our wellbeing.
Bringing empathy to ourselves, and to others is a starting point which builds understanding, respect and reciprocity, and critically – Kindness….
Imagine a world in which Kindness is in abundance.
A world in which kindness flows freely between friends
Between neighbours
Between strangers
Between nations.
When kindness permeates, we can feel calmness, we can feel safe and secure.
When kindness percolates, we can start to think clearly, feel more confident, and act with laser focus on the things which matter.
When kindness is present we can grow as an individual and connect in our community.
Friendship groups can thrive together, and pull each other through as those pools of positive people grow to become more than the sum of their parts.
Something magical happens….
We start to live life more through positive emotions.
We stick together to support each other through the challenges life throws at us.
We see through the eyes of others, and make allowances for the times when our friends are struggling.
We become less quick to react – and more empathetic to respond… with kindness, and listening and understanding.
We start to feel heard, seen and understood.
We build confidence, trusting we can bring all of our strengths, talents and unique quirks - and be celebrated for our true essence, not fearful of being judged.
We let the negativity go.
We put down our weapons and disarm sharp tongues.
And tap into our inner kind souls
To speak from a place of compassion, acceptance and non-judging.
To live as our full selves, thriving and making a positive impact in our world - with kindness.
Workshop aims & outcomes
This interactive workshop is designed to share with teens that there is another way –
Insights - We recognise we all have an inner Judge, and nine accomplice saboteurs. These characters have been impacting our relationships, performance and our wellbeing.
Tools - We will explore some simple techniques for shifting towards a more positive being – our Sage.
Body & Mind - We drop into the body as a tool to inform how we are feeling, and use embodiment techniques and breathwork to calm & re-centre. We explore ways our body can ground us and empower us.
Perspectives & Mindset - We build Positive Mindset, Growth Mindset & use PQ Sage perspectives
Strategies - We will learn how to tap into all of our hidden strengths in a more intentional and productive way.
Working towards a life of Ease & Flow, Teens learn tools which calm and reset, whilst getting themselves into clear-headed laser-focussed action.
We can’t stop life from throwing us curved balls – but we can grow our skills and mindsets to ensure that we are fitter at handling life’s knocks. This is about building resilience, living more in positive emotions and recovering faster.
Teens leave the session with practical tips they can use in any situation to support their wellbeing, improve their relationships and keep their focus. Workbooks are designed to become a personalised resource to support wellbeing.
